One Year Ago.....

David and I were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. What a blessing it was to have been given this opportunity. David was just days away from being deployed to Afghanistan for a twelve month deployment, and we had not yet been married for a year. With the advise from our Stake President, David wrote a letter to the first presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, and asked for their permission for us to be sealed before our customary one year mark. David had already started his training program in Arizona when I received the letter at home, granting us permission to be sealed. David was going to be home for a few short days before he was to be leaving, and we were able to make arrangements for that Saturday February 2, 2008. It ended up being the same day as our beloved prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley's funeral services. The streets were full of onlookers and the music could be heard for blocks. We joke that they were all there for us. What a blessing it has been to have felt the peace and comfort that comes with knowing that we will be together for all eternity.
